Reflection #4: Paragraph Portfolio Writing Experience

To me, the most challenging part of writing a paragraph is to find a good aim to write, a good layout so that the paragraph won't be so boring or extremely bad. This is very hard for me because I'm not a very good writer so that a lot fundamental things are really hard for me. I know that keep on writing is going to help me get through this, but I don't think the quantity haven't work it's magic, so now every time when I write, it's really a painful path for me. I try to keep telling myself to push it, not to become a good writer, but to get the grade that I wanted. I know this is not what the instructor's intention, but as long as I keep pushing myself and it won't benefit the instructor and I both.My reaction on learning and writing a certain paragraph is quiet hard to tell. On the one hand, I know that if I do this, it's going to benefit me a lot and that will come a long way. On the other hand, I have this inner person that said: oh no, not again! For example, when I'm writing this blog, I know this is going to benefit me a lot and I have never wrote blog before so this can be an interesting experience for me. But on the other hand, I just do like to do this kind of work and I really don't have a clue on how to improve or where is this going. So for me, and some students may also have this kind of problem, I what our aim is to try our best and be better. I believe that after this long journey of writing all kinds of paragraphs and posts, things will do pay off.

  1. It is really a hard work to train writing I think, for the reason that I face the same problem and sink into the situation similarly. Quantity is indeed a way to improve the quality of writing but not all about the improvement of writing. To enhance, write with accumulation. Gradually, the writing will be improved.

  2. Wow, it seems that the reflection really involves large amounts of your personal feelings. Beyond the conflicts that emerges in your mind, however, it is definitely going to be beneficial in the long run. So be more determinate. There are always positive feedbacks during the learning process. Just be patient step by step and eventually, as you said, things will do pay off.

  3. There is no doubt that writing in a second language is a hard job. Everyone face this kind of problem. How to fix this? Practicing with understanding and accumulation is always the best way. Frequent practicing makes you more familiar with the writing tools you are using and understanding and accumulation make you writing articles with thought, not just mechanically repeat.
